Visit to Earlswood Model Engineers Club
14th June 2009
First a few pictures of the Railway activity with the Earlsfield Model Engineers Club's members engines on display and working. Inane comments and guesswork by the webmaster. Can you put him right? He fancies himself as a bit of an expert where trains are concerned?
Some of our members took full sized engines and others took model engines, The weather was superb and a great day was enjoyed by all who attended.
Closer view of the NCB train. Is it a Barclay or a Hunslet? The red diesel on the left is a model of a Western Class Desel Hydraulic. Looking very workmanlike is a LBSC 4-4-2 (London Brighton & South Coast Railway). Then follows the Blue Tank engine......Designed with NS (North Staffordshire) parentage but looking very "Thomas" like. Next along, Did they ever have steam engines that colour? Yes they did thanks to a gent called Mr Stroudley. I believe the colour to be "Improved Engine Green". Sanity reigns in the right background with an LMS (London Midland & Scottish Railway) Black 5. No bias here!!

Two class 08 diesel shunters wait for work as an NCB (National Coal Board) tank engine passes in the background.

Another trains sets off hauled by what looks like a GWR (Great Western Railway) loco. Is it a Castle perhaps?

Davids full sized "Rushton" Engine.

Davids upright model steam engine.

No notes included from Secretary Sue for this model. Is this "Joy" valve gear I see?

Another pretty model.

Just to add a little variety here is Davids collection of different spark plugs.

Kens "Norman" Generating set. The arm belongs to Bob.
