Welcome to Bob's Engine Club

The Club

The club started in 1997, it’s aims are the restoration and presentation of old stationary engines, or barn engines as they are sometimes known, including any relevant farm machinery and equipment, vintage collections and memorabilia.  We have members with Barn engines, tractors, motor bikes, cars, working and static displays as well as models. For example we have collections of Tilley lamps, old cameras, a collection of milk churns, vintage lawn mowers, wooden toys, blow lamps, kitchen and laundry equipment, working miniature steam, cycles and auto cycles; in fact all things vintage!

Meetings

Meetings are held on the first Friday of every month, except for December, at Woodside Farm, Orton Lane, Twycross, Leicestershire CV9 3HA from 7.30PM until we all go home.  In December the club holds a social event on a Saturday night, attendance is not obligatory, but all are made very welcome – tea and coffee come free of charge. Other refreshments are on sale and a raffle is held to help defray the cost of the evening.

Membership

Cost of membership is £10 per year (£12 per family) and is limited to fifty; the membership fee includes a £5,000,000 public liability insurance, covering any rally or show in the British Isles providing members adhere to the safety code.  At most shows and rallies proof of insurance will be asked for, it is therefore advisable to carry your membership card to all shows.

Also included with your club membership is N.F.U. Countryside membership, allowing access to their stands, usually at agricultural shows.
