The Clubhouse

BeforeBefore

Work started on the building in October 2008. The Society will be renting the yard and building from a farmer who is very interested in what we are doing.

The long term plan for the building is to be able to open up to the public and to offer the younger generation the chance to come and learn from our experienced members all aspects of farming in the days gone by.

We have members with many years of experience in the art of many rural crafts e.g. pole lathing, wood turning, folk art, chair bodging, clock making, welding, mechanics, fabricating ,building etc. They are willing to share their expertise. There will also be displays from the old farmhouse kitchen and dairy, old toys ,lamps, tools etc.

All  the work on the building has been done by our club members, Bob, Ted, Tommy, Robin, Aubrey, Phil, Danny, Ken, Dave, and Mike.  They have all worked very hard, even contributing finacially to the rebuild. A big thank you is said to them all.

The next phase of the rebuild is to get the water and electric reconected. We are applying for grants for a heating system and to get a kitchen installed.

If there is anyone out there who could help in any way with sponsorship or would like to get involved, perhaps you have a skill that we could utilise?

We would be most grateful.  Click Here for latest images.
